I haven't been to Centre Island in years, but there are ferries to get across for a reasonable fare. I took a tour boat around the islands more recently, and it's great the see the Toronto skyline from out in the water. It's also great to picnic, BBQ, and play frisbee on the islands. And there are also bikes, kayaks, canoes and paddle boards for rent there as well.
