Have always been wanting to try this place out. Finally got an opportunity to go this past weekend and came out pretty disappointed. Ordered a lamb and fish hot pot as well as beef noodles. The lamb was sliced so thin that it was impossible even to tell whether it was fresh or not. The fish was of the cheap type and really small as well. The beef in the noodles was not as tender as expected. Those 2 dishes combined were barely enough to fill 2 people with small appetite.

Ordered a papaya slush and a Hainan chicken rice dish. Surprisingly for a place known more for drinks, the slush was a disappointment while the rice tasted better than expected. The slush only tasted cold, but with no papaya taste at all and the color was simply white. They could have given me a strawberry one and I wouldn't know the difference. The chicken dish came with simple salad and was pretty filling. The meat tasted pretty good. The service was decent. Redeemed this on the past weekend. I agree with the previous poster that the portion was quite large. The amount of meat, in comparison, seems really tiny though. The meat was heavy in MSG too. I was thirsty for quite a whole afterwards. I won't be returning unless I want something that is cheap but will surely fill me up (not easy to find such in Pacific Mall).

Re-visited this place and ordered their chicken cartridge, pork neck, spare ribs, and lamb chops. Cartridge was amazingly crispy even though we generally avoid fried food. The neck tastes like port hock, yummy but not much surprise. The ribs tasted good even though we remember it tasting better last time. Came back to this place after having wonderful experience with the beef tongue sandwiches. This time, we discovered another tasty dish thanks to the owner's advice - chopped liver! It's served cold and intended for spreading onto bread, and tasted just like the much more expensive fois gras pate. We could not get enough! Ordered beef brisket with lotus roots, meat loaf with squid and mushrooms, and sour vegetables on steam fish. Overall, we enjoyed the meal very much. The lotus roots were served with the desired crispy yet soft texture. The meat loaf I found off taste but my friend seems to like it. Visited there on a weekend at lunch time. Seating was not entirely full but there were a good 3 groups of people in there. On street parking near the restaurant is free during weekends. They offer a variety of Tainwanese style appetizers, drinks and hot meals. I ordered a rice with minced meat and it was very filling. With their large selection of dishes and drinks, I'm sure you'll find something to your satisfaction no matter the time of day. Will be back!

I purchased 2 vouchers and redeemed them in separate visits. Both times the attendant tried to tell me that the boss is not around and she doesn't know what to do with the voucher. On the first visit, I basically told her I don't want to come back again when her boss is around, and explained to her in detail how the voucher works. On the second visit, I was not as courteous and told her straight in her face that she has already used the same trick on me last time.
